I’ve got another new announcement for you, folks. I just finished (I think) setting up the official Cryptnos Pootle portal! What the heck is Pootle, you say? Pootle a user-friendly web portal that makes the translation process so much simpler. It allows online translation, work assignment, statistics, and easy volunteer contribution. Initially, I’ve set up a project specifically for Cryptnos for Android, with plans to add one for the Windows/.NET version once I do all the rewriting necessary to enable localization. (I wrote the .NET version purely for myself, with no forward thought into releasing it into the wild. Thus, all the text is hard-coded into it, rather than abstracted to allow easy translation.)
If you check out the Android project, you’ll only see a limited selection of languages. This isn’t because I don’t want translations for languages not listed. The selection of languages is based on the languages available in the Android Market publishing interface; in other words, so far, these are the only languages Google supports in the Market. If you are interested in translating Cryptnos into a language that is currently unlisted, let me know and I may go ahead and add it anyway. I’ll try and stay on top of the Market language options and add more as Google adds them.
